Proventil (Albuterol / Salbutamol SR) : Asthma

The generic name of the Proventil is albuterol. Proventil is bronchodilators which help in relaxing muscles in the airways and increase the flow of air to the lungs. Proventil is help in treatment or prevention of bronchospasm in people with reversible obstructive airway disease. Preventil is used to prevent or cure exercise-induced bronchospasm.


Important info:
It is the most important thing about the Proventil is to keep Proventil on hand at all times. Get your medicines refilled before you get out of the medicine completely. Do not stop taking all other medication as prescribed by your doctor. Call the doctor immediately if you feel that Proventil is not working as well as regular, or if it makes your condition critical. If it seems like you need more medication, talk with your doctor. Seek medical attention if you have taken an overdose of Proventil. An overdose of albuterol may be lethal. Extreme intensity of heat can cause the medicine container to burst. Do not keep your inhaler in hot places such as a car in hot days. Never throw an empty container into open flame.
Before using Proventil:
You should not use Proventil if you have allergy of an albuterol. If you have certain medical conditions like you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely use Proventil. Before the use of Proventil, tell your doctor if you have following medical conditions: Heart disease, high blood pressure, or congestive heart failure, heart rhythm disorder, a seizures disorder such as epilepsy, diabetes, and overactive thyroid etc are the medical conditions which if you are suffering from then you must consult to your doctor. If you may have any of the above conditions, you cannot start to consume Proventil, or you may need a dose adjustment or special tests during treatment. Proventil is harmful to a baby who is unborn. Tell to your doctor if you are pregnant or else you are planning to be pregnant. Do not use Proventil without consulting a doctor.
