Serevent (Salmeterol) :Asthma

The generic name of the Severent is salmeterol. Salmeterol is a bronchodilator. Severent is used to prevent an attack of asthma. Serevent is relaxer which relaxes the muscles in the airways to improve breathing. It will not treat an attack of asthma that has begun already. Severent is also used to prevent chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.


Important info:
Do not use serevent to treat an attack of asthma that has started before sometime. Salmenterol may maximize the risk of severe asthma attack which will leads to death. Use only the drugs prescribed by the doctor and do not use it for longer than your doctor has recommended to you. Follow all the instructions, rules and regulations for patients for safer side. Always discuss the uses and risk as an individual. If you use Serevent to treat asthma, then you must use it together with another asthma control medicine. Asthma is always treated with combinations of various drugs. Talk with your doctor if medication does not seem to work as better in treating or preventing attacks of asthma. Do not change your schedule of your medicines prescribed by the doctor. Do not use second form of salmenterol or use a similar inhaled bronchodilator such as arformoterol or formoterol; unless your doctor told you to do. Find medical attention; if it seems like your asthma medications are not working properly as good as usual. An increased necessity of medication could be an early sign of serious asthma attack.
Before using Serevent:
If you have an allergy to salmeterol, you cannot use serevent. And the most important thing is; if you are suffering from asthma, Serevent should not your only asthma medicine. It must be used together with at least one other asthma control medicine. If you have a food or drug allergy you need to have Severent medication. If you are suffering from heart disease or high blood pressure, epilepsy or other stroke or seizure disorder, thyroid disorder, or liver disease, you need to take serevent. Do not use this medication if you are pregnant or planning for become pregnant or else you are breast-feeding a baby. Summary: Severent is a medicine used to prevent an attack of asthma.
