Tadora(Tadalafil) : Men`s health

Tadalafil is a potent medical compound which is supported by medical science for the treatment of male impotence caused by Erectile Dysfunction (ED) in men. Tadalafil acts over these contracted muscles. The contraction is associated with the abundance of the enzyme named phosphor-di-esterase type -5 (PDE-5). Tadalafil acts over PDE-5 by releasing nitric oxide into the blood. The released nitric oxide reaches the penile region and binds with the receptors of the counter enzyme. Tadalafil boosts the action of the counter enzyme guanylate cyclase by making the nitric oxide bind with its receptors. The binding action results into formation of cyclic Guanosine MonoPhosphate (cGMP). The cGMP produced is responsible for relaxing the muscles. Thus, Tadalafil relaxes the contracted muscles and allows the arteries carrying blood to enlarge. The enlarged arteries pump in more blood into the penile tissue – corpus cavernosum. Hence, Tadalafil helps to engorge the organ with blood and thus facilitates strong and prolonged erection.

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia or BPH is a condition found in men only. It is associated with the enlargement of the prostate gland. The prostate gland is located in men right above the urethra. The gland is responsible for secreting prostatic juices essential for semen generation and healthy seminal discharge. As men grow old in age, the capacity to use up Testosterone inside their bodies decrease. The Testosterone is converted into Di hydro Testosterone or DHT. DHT is responsible for cell growth and cell division and is androgenic by nature. Tadalafil is used to control this androgenic nature of DHT. The excessive produced DHT is known to penetrate into epithelial cells and stromal cells of the prostate gland. This causes the cells in the prostate to multiply rapidly. The excessive cell division causes the prostate to enlarge. The enlarged prostate contains no cells which are cancerous in nature and is hence termed as ‘Benign’. While the rapid cell division is known as ‘Hyperplasia’.

BPH causes problems in urination as it blocks the urethra. Enlarged prostate disallows normal urine flow and hence the bladder is not emptied fully during urinal discharge. This causes frequent urge of urination among men suffering from BPH. BPH is later stages is also known to completely block the urethra and cause urine blockage. This can cause severe side effects on kidney and would lead to medical complications. Tadalafil acts over the BPH by reducing the prostate growth. It curbs the conversion of Testosterone into DHT. As DHT production gets suppressed, the cell growth is hindered. DHT production is specifically increased by the enzyme 5 α – reductase. The enzyme aggravates DHT production. Tadalafil suppresses this enzyme and thus reduces DHT. The process of reducing production of DHT takes a long time. Hence, visible effects are seen only after 6 to 8 months. Studies have shown that prostate growth is reduced by 25% in the span of 6 months by Tadalafil.

Thus, Tadalafil is a powerful PDE-5 inhibitor and 5 α-reductase inhibitor. Hence, it is gaining appreciation and fame among older men who have problems of enlarged prostate and difficulty in getting an erection. The most interesting thing about Tadalafil is its quick acting nature. It starts acting within a span of 20 minutes. Tadalafil is prescribed in quantities of 10mg, 5mg and 2.5mg. The prescription varies from individual to individual as per age limit and suitability to the drug. Tadalafil should never be used without any kind of prescription and assessment from a medical professional.

Tadalafil should never be consumed with any kind of alcoholic beverage and foods rich in fats. The rate of absorption and effectiveness of Tadalafil is affected by these foods. Tadalafil should never be consumed with any other kind of PDE-5 inhibitor as it may result into side effects. Further, use of Tadalafil with any other kind of antibiotics and anti allergens should be avoided. Tadalafil may produce adverse effects in people with diabetes and cardiac issues. Side effects of Tadalafil are similar to any other PDE-5 inhibitor. Tadalafil side effects include blurring of vision and partial hearing loss.
